How resolution works.
Every question on Castalore closes into a documented, admin-resolved outcome. Here is exactly how that happens, and what you can do if you think a resolution got it wrong.
Who resolves a question
An administrator, never an algorithm and never the forecasters themselves, records the outcome once a question’s forecasting window has closed. Every resolution names a winning option, a written reason, and a reference to the evidence used.
What counts as evidence
Each question states its expected source when it is published, usually an official register, a regulator’s own statement, or a published dataset. A resolution that departs from the stated source is the exception, not the norm, and always explains why.
Once resolved, it is final
Resolution is irreversible inside the product. This is deliberate: a system that can quietly rewrite outcomes cannot build reputation that means anything. Reputation is scored immediately and permanently from the resolution as recorded.
If you think a resolution is wrong
Because resolution cannot be undone in the app, disagreements are handled outside it, by editorial review of the original evidence. Flag it and an editor re-examines the source that was cited.
Resolution never settles Castalore Points, and never adjusts a balance directly. Reputation is computed only from your stated probability and the documented outcome.
