Terms of Service
Effective date: 11 September 2026 · Last updated: 11 September 2026
Welcome to Castalore.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Castalore website, applications, services, features, and related products (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using Castalore, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Service.
1. About Castalore
Schmarc Technologies operates Castalore.
Castalore is a forecasting and collective-intelligence platform focused on questions, events, trends, and public conversations relevant to Africa.
Castalore allows users to:
- discover forecasting questions;
- submit predictions about future events;
- express probabilities or confidence regarding possible outcomes;
- participate in community forecasting;
- earn and use virtual Points within the Service;
- view forecasting records and community statistics;
- participate in Trending and Banter content;
- use AI-assisted tools where available; and
- interact with other features that Castalore may introduce from time to time.
Castalore is designed to facilitate forecasting, analysis, discussion, and collective intelligence.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise in separate written terms, Castalore is not a gambling, wagering, investment, financial trading, or real-money betting service.
2. Eligibility
You must meet the minimum legal age and other eligibility requirements applicable to you in your jurisdiction to use Castalore.
You are responsible for determining whether you are legally permitted to use the Service in your location.
You may not use Castalore if:
- you are legally prohibited from doing so;
- your use of the Service would violate applicable law or regulation;
- you have previously been suspended or banned from Castalore and have not received permission to return; or
- you otherwise do not satisfy the requirements of these Terms.
If we reasonably believe that your use of Castalore violates applicable law or these Terms, we may restrict or terminate your access.
3. Your Account
Certain features require you to create an account.
You agree to:
- provide accurate information;
- keep your account information reasonably up to date;
- maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- not share your account with another person;
- not impersonate another person or entity; and
- notify Castalore if you believe your account has been compromised.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless that activity resulted from circumstances outside your reasonable control.
Castalore may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that present security, fraud, abuse, or other material risks to the Service.
4. Forecasting
Castalore allows users to submit forecasts on published questions.
Depending on the particular market, a forecast may require you to:
- select an available outcome, such as YES or NO;
- provide a probability or confidence value;
- commit a specified amount of virtual Points; or
- provide other information required by the Service.
Forecasts are recorded by Castalore’s systems.
Once submitted, forecasts may become part of your historical forecasting record and may be used to calculate community statistics, forecasting performance, reputation, and other Service features.
You understand that forecasts represent your own expectations at the time they are submitted.
Castalore does not guarantee that:
- a forecast will be accurate;
- a question will receive sufficient participation;
- an event will occur as anticipated;
- information available to you will be complete or accurate; or
- forecasting performance will result in any particular ranking, reputation, reward, or benefit.
5. Community Forecasts and Probabilities
Castalore may display aggregated community forecasts, probabilities, statistics, rankings, or other collective-intelligence information.
These figures are generated from user activity and the methods used by Castalore.
Community probabilities and other statistics:
- are not guarantees;
- may change as users submit forecasts;
- may be based on a defined subset of forecasts;
- may differ from other sources or prediction methods; and
- should not be treated as factual certainty.
A community forecast represents the collective information available through the Castalore forecasting system, not an official statement by Castalore about what will happen.
6. Market Resolution
Castalore questions may eventually be resolved according to predefined resolution criteria.
Where applicable, Castalore may determine an outcome using:
- the resolution criteria published with the question;
- specified evidence or sources;
- official announcements;
- publicly verifiable information; or
- other evidence reasonably consistent with the published resolution criteria.
Each forecasting question may specify the conditions under which it will be resolved and, where appropriate, the sources or evidence that will be used.
Castalore aims to resolve markets using reliable, publicly verifiable information relevant to the published resolution criteria. Such information may include official government announcements, recognized public institutions, reputable news organizations, publicly available records, or other appropriate sources.
A market will not be resolved solely on the basis of an unverified social-media post, rumor, speculation, or AI-generated information where reliable verification is reasonably available.
Castalore may review multiple public sources when determining an outcome.
Once a market is resolved, the resolution is intended to be final. However, Castalore may correct a resolution where a material factual, technical, administrative, or interpretive error is discovered.
Any correction should be documented and, where appropriate, accompanied by an explanation of the evidence supporting the corrected outcome.
7. Virtual Points
Castalore may provide users with virtual Points (“Points”).
Points are part of the internal Castalore experience and:
- have no cash value;
- are not currency;
- are not deposits;
- are not investments;
- cannot be withdrawn as cash;
- cannot be exchanged for money;
- cannot be redeemed for monetary value;
- cannot be transferred between users unless Castalore expressly enables such functionality;
- do not represent ownership of Castalore or any other asset; and
- do not create any right to payment.
Points may be granted, committed, adjusted, or otherwise modified according to Castalore’s rules and systems.
Castalore may change, suspend, or discontinue Points-related features at any time, subject to applicable law.
You may not sell, purchase, trade, transfer, or attempt to monetize Points outside functionality expressly provided by Castalore.
Attempts to manipulate Points balances, forecasting activity, rankings, or other systems may result in account restrictions or termination.
Summarised: Points are virtual, have no monetary value, cannot be withdrawn, redeemed, sold, purchased, exchanged, or transferred between users, and do not represent ownership or an entitlement to money or other assets.
8. No Real-Money Wagering
Unless Castalore expressly publishes separate terms governing a particular regulated product, you do not wager real money on Castalore.
You should not interpret Points, forecasts, rankings, reputation scores, or market activity as financial instruments or monetary bets.
Castalore does not currently promise users any monetary return for forecasting activity.
If Castalore introduces a product involving real money, financial transactions, wagering, or another regulated activity, that product may be subject to additional terms, eligibility requirements, geographic restrictions, verification procedures, and applicable laws.
Castalore is an online service intended primarily for users interested in African events, developments, trends, and public conversations. The Service may be accessed from multiple countries, but Castalore does not represent that the Service is appropriate, available, or legally permitted in every jurisdiction.
Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of Castalore complies with the laws applicable to them.
9. Reputation and Accuracy
Castalore may calculate reputation, accuracy, performance scores, rankings, or similar measures based on historical forecasts.
These measures are intended to provide information about forecasting performance.
They are not:
- guarantees of future accuracy;
- financial ratings;
- professional credentials;
- investment advice; or
- statements that a user is an expert in a particular subject.
Past forecasting performance does not guarantee future performance.
Castalore may modify or discontinue reputation and ranking systems as the Service develops.
10. Trending and Banter
Castalore may provide additional streams such as Trending and Banter.
Trending may identify questions inspired by current events, public conversations, news, social signals, or other publicly available information.
Banter may present lighter, humorous, cultural, sporting, or conversational forecasting questions.
These streams are still subject to Castalore’s general forecasting rules.
Content appearing in Trending or Banter does not necessarily represent the views of Castalore.
Humorous or satirical framing does not change the underlying requirement that published forecasting questions should be reasonably understandable and, where applicable, objectively resolvable.
11. User Content
You may submit forecasts, probability assessments, and other information specifically requested by Castalore’s forecasting features.
You retain ownership of User Content to the extent you have rights in it.
By submitting User Content, you grant Castalore a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, process, analyze, and use that content as reasonably necessary to:
- operate the Service;
- provide forecasting and community features;
- display your forecasts and related statistics;
- improve the Service;
- maintain security and integrity;
- investigate abuse; and
- comply with applicable law.
You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not violate these Terms or the rights of others.

- exploit bugs or vulnerabilities;
- interfere with the operation of the Service;
- attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts;
- scrape or harvest information in a manner prohibited by Castalore;

- otherwise interfere with the integrity of Castalore.
Castalore may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action.
13. Third-Party Information and Sources
Castalore may display, reference, or use information obtained from third-party sources, including news organizations, social platforms, public websites, feeds, and other services.
Castalore does not guarantee that third-party information is:
- accurate;
- complete;
- current;
- available;
- unbiased; or
- suitable for a particular purpose.
Third-party services may change, restrict, or discontinue their availability without notice.
Castalore is not responsible for the content, policies, availability, or actions of third-party services.
14. Intellectual Property
The Castalore Service, including its software, design, branding, trademarks, logos, interfaces, original text, and other materials, is owned by or licensed to Castalore unless otherwise stated.
You may not:
- copy substantial portions of the Service;
- reproduce Castalore’s branding without permission;
- reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law;
- sell or redistribute the Service; or
- use Castalore’s intellectual property without authorization.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Castalore’s intellectual property to you.
15. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, feature requests, or other feedback regarding Castalore, you agree that Castalore may use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
You do not transfer ownership of unrelated intellectual property merely by providing feedback.

We may also temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, security, technical issues, or other operational reasons.
We do not guarantee that Castalore will always be available or uninterrupted.
17. Accuracy and Reliability
Castalore provides information and forecasting tools on an “as available” basis.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Castalore does not guarantee that:
- the Service will always be available;
- information will always be accurate;

You use the Service at your own risk.
18. Disclaimer of Professional Advice

You are responsible for obtaining appropriate professional advice where necessary.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Castalore and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.
This includes, where applicable, losses resulting from:
- reliance on forecasts;
- reliance on AI-generated information;
- inaccurate or incomplete information;
- interruption of the Service;
- account suspension;
- loss of data;
- technical failures;
- third-party services; or
- unauthorized activity.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
20. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Castalore and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from:
- your violation of these Terms;
- your misuse of the Service;
- your User Content;
- your violation of another person’s rights; or
- your violation of applicable law.
21. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Castalore at any time.
Castalore may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably determine that you:
- violated these Terms;
- engaged in fraud or abuse;
- manipulated the Service;
- created a security risk;
- violated applicable law; or
- otherwise materially harmed the integrity of the Service.
Where appropriate, Castalore may provide notice before taking action, but immediate action may be taken when necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties.
Upon termination, provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
Castalore may investigate accounts where there is a reasonable indication of a violation of these Terms, abuse of the Service, manipulation of forecasting systems, fraud, security concerns, or other conduct that may harm the integrity of the platform.
Depending on the circumstances, Castalore may temporarily restrict an account while an investigation is conducted.
Where Castalore determines that an account has violated these Terms, the account may be suspended or terminated.
Where appropriate, the user may be informed of the reason for the action and may submit an appeal through the designated support channel.
Castalore may maintain restrictions during an appeal where necessary to protect users, the integrity of the Service, or an ongoing investigation.

The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms by reference.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make material changes, we may provide notice through the Service or other reasonable means.
Your continued use of Castalore after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
24. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Schmarc Technologies’ place of registration, subject to any mandatory laws that apply to users based on their place of residence.
Before these Terms are finalized for public launch, the specific governing jurisdiction and applicable dispute-resolution procedure will be confirmed based on the legal registration of Schmarc Technologies.
25. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
26. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly applicable to particular Castalore features, constitute the agreement between you and Castalore regarding your use of the Service.
